Terms of Service

1. The service
Pictie is an app for sending someone you're connected with a wordless "thinking of you" signal — a poke. The service is free and has no ads. By installing the app and signing in you accept these terms and the privacy policy.
2. Accounts and age
Accounts are created with Google or Apple sign-in and are for one person's own use. Pictie is for people aged 14 and over; if we learn that someone under 14 has signed up, we delete the account. You can delete your account and data yourself in Settings at any time.
3. Connections
A connection exists only when the person who receives an invite link accepts it. Invite links expire after a short time and can be accepted by several people, so connections that arise from a link posted somewhere public are the responsibility of whoever created it. Either side can disconnect at any time, and you can block or report the other person.
4. Prohibited conduct
Harassment — repeatedly poking someone who does not want it — impersonating others, automated or excessive requests that interfere with the service, exploiting vulnerabilities, and use for unlawful purposes are prohibited. Pictie may technically limit sending volume to prevent abuse.
5. Restrictions
If a report is received or prohibited conduct is confirmed, we may limit poke sending or suspend or delete the account without prior notice. If you disagree, write to the address below.
6. Content and intellectual property
The app's effects, characters, sounds, design, and the "Pictie" name and logo belong to Pictie. You may use them only as needed to use the app; copying, redistribution and commercial use are not permitted. Users cannot post text or photos, so there is no user content.
7. Changes to and discontinuation of the service
We may add, change or remove features, and may suspend the service temporarily or permanently for maintenance, outages or business reasons. If we shut the service down we give at least 30 days' notice in the app or on pictie.app. Push notifications pass through Google's and Apple's systems and may be delayed or fail.
8. Limitation of liability
Pictie is a free service provided as is, to the extent the law allows. Pictie is not liable for loss arising from a poke not being delivered or being delivered late, or from the relationship between users. This does not apply to loss caused by intent or gross negligence, or to liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If the consumer-protection laws of the country you live in give you stronger protection, that protection still applies. Disputes are first discussed via the address below; if unresolved, the courts having jurisdiction under Korean civil procedure hear them.
10. Changes to these terms
Changes are posted on this page. For material changes or changes that are unfavorable to users, we give notice in the app or on this page 7 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the changed terms.
